AWS ontwikkelt Office alternatief voor Microsoft en Google
Amazon Web Services (AWS) ontwikkelt een Office SaaS (Software as a Service) alternatief voor Microsoft en Google aldus de website The Information.
AWS is nu de sterkste public cloud speler en Infrastructure-as-a-Service specialist. AWS zet nu vaker in op eigen software zoals datawarehousing, databases en nu ook Office productiviteit applicaties.
Amazon heeft eerder WorkMail en WorkDocs file storage gelanceerd, maar die toepassingen worden nog niet zo massaal gebruikt als Microsoft Office 365 en Google G Duite (voorheen Apps). De AWS Office apps kunnen misschien worden gecombineerd met Chime, een video conferencing service die Amazon onlangs lanceerde. Microsoft Skype for Business kan bijvoorbeeld ook worden gecombineerd met Office apps.
