ITNEXT Summit 2019

ITNEXT Summit 2019 image

On Wednesday 30th of October 2019, inspirational speakers will discuss the latest technologies and development around JS, Data Engineering and DevOps at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam. An event that should not be missed! We are organizing one of the most interesting IT-events in the Netherlands.

We will showcase the tech and skills necessary to build scalable applications in a time where time-to-market is one of the most critical factors. So enjoy our tracks to hear about success and lessons learned from market tech-savvy leaders sessions!

The event is aimed at IT/Tech professionals who want to learn whats new and what’s next. The intention of the Summit is to instigate thoughts, share knowledge, and inspire!

We will show the underlying technology of the solutions for tomorrow but do not expect just discussions about what will happen in five to ten years. We give you a backstage view on what is possible to implement and apply now and to learn what used to be impossible but now is feasible!

Creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone
Tech is built for humans and by humans. Different mindsets & points of view represent a better learning and sharing environment: the core ideas behind the ITNEXT initiative.

Therefore, for the 4th edition of the ITNEXT Summit we want to make diversity a priority. Why? Even though we had more than 30 speakers in 3 years, we were sad with the fact that there was not enough representation from minority groups. We need to do better. For this years’ Summit one of our goals, is creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

We started by inviting two amazing engineers to be track chairs and also keynote the event: Tara Ojo and Holden Karau. Liz Fong-Jones, former SRE at Google and now SRE Dev Advocate at Honeycomb will give a fantastic (and funny) keynote talk. Next to that we proceeded to ask one of the most brilliant Kubernetes engineers in the world to do the closing keynote, Kris Nova.

What do they have in common? They are all fantastic engineers with a strong presence in the community and are part of underrepresented groups in tech. Next to that, we are offering diversity tickets, have and execute a clear code of conduct and will do everything that is in our power to create a safe environment and safe community for everyone.
