AWS pakt uit met nieuwe partnerships en toepassingen op re:Invent 2021

AWS pakt uit met nieuwe partnerships, klanten en toepassingen op zijn jaarlijkse re:Invent 2021 dat wordt gehouden in de VS. De cloud gigant heeft diverse nieuwe klanten aangetrokken. Tevens zijn zijn er nieuwe toepassingen aangekondigd.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) kondigt aan dat de Roche Group AWS gebruikt voor het merendeel van zijn cloudworkloads. Dit helpt Roche om meer waarde uit zijn gezondheidsgegevens te halen. Het bedrijf gebruikt AWS-mogelijkheden op het gebied van high-performance computing, analyse, machine learning, database, opslag en beveiliging. Dit om de ontdekking en ontwikkeling van geneesmiddelen te versnellen en gezondheidsgegevens op grote schaal te verwerken om hoogwaardige, individueel op maat gemaakte zorg te leveren. Roche werkt ook samen met AWS Professional Services om zijn informatietechnologie (IT)-systemen te integreren. Op deze manier kan het veilig gegevens delen als dat nodig is, zowel binnen het bedrijf als met belangrijke externe belanghebbenden zoals academische instellingen, regelgevende instanties en zorgaanbieders, terwijl Roche voldoet aan de wetten en richtlijnen om de privacy van patiënten te beschermen.

Gilead en AWS werken samen aan de ontwikkeling en levering van nieuwe geneesmiddelen voor patiënten

Amazon Web Services (AWS) kondigt verder aan dat Gilead Sciences AWS heeft gekozen als preferred cloudprovider. Door te innoveren op AWS en met de hulp van AWS-experts en partners in de gezondheidszorg en life sciences, voorziet Gilead zijn datawetenschappers van de nieuwste ontwikkelingen op het gebied van machine learning en analytics. Deze mogelijkheden stimuleren datagestuurde besluitvorming in de hele organisatie – van het ontdekken van biomarkers tot productie en werving van klinische proeven – en leveren inzichten op die Gilead kunnen helpen bij het verfijnen van zijn medicijnpijplijn. Het bedrijf vertrouwt ook op AWS om alle workloads te hosten voor zijn enterprise resource planning (ERP) transformatieproject om SAP S/4HANA te implementeren.

Robots staan centraal tijdens re:Invent

AWS IoT RoboRunner is een nieuwe robotservice die het voor bedrijven gemakkelijker maakt om applicaties te bouwen en in te zetten zodat robots naadloos kunnen samenwerken. Voortbouwend op dezelfde technologie die wordt gebruikt in de fulfilmentcentra van Amazon, wordt deze nu beschikbaar gesteld aan alle ontwikkelaars om geavanceerde robotica-applicaties voor hun bedrijf te bouwen.

AWS Mainframe Modernisering

AWS kondigt AWS Mainframe Modernization aan, een nieuwe service die het voor klanten sneller en gemakkelijker maakt om mainframe- en legacy-workloads naar de cloud te migreren en te profiteren van de superieure flexibiliteit, elasticiteit en kostenbesparingen van AWS. Met AWS Mainframe Modernization kunnen klanten hun mainframe-workloads refactoren zodat ze op AWS kunnen draaien door legacy-applicaties om te zetten in moderne op Java gebaseerde cloudservices.

AWS Private 5G aan

AWS kondigt AWS Private 5G, een nieuwe beheerde service die bedrijven helpt bij het opzetten en schalen van particuliere 5G mobiele netwerken in hun faciliteiten in maar enkele dagen in plaats van maanden. Met slechts een paar klikken in de AWS-console specificeren klanten waar ze een mobiel netwerk willen bouwen en de netwerkcapaciteit die nodig is voor hun apparaten. AWS levert en onderhoudt de kleine mobiele radio-eenheden, servers, 5G-kern en radiotoegangsnetwerk (RAN)-software en abonnee-identiteitsmodules (simkaarten) die nodig zijn om een privé 5G-netwerk op te zetten en apparaten aan te sluiten. AWS Private 5G automatiseert de installatie en implementatie van het netwerk en schaalt de capaciteit op aanvraag om extra apparaten en meer netwerkverkeer te ondersteunen. Er zijn geen kosten vooraf of kosten per apparaat met AWS Private 5G, en klanten betalen alleen voor de netwerkcapaciteit en doorvoer die ze nodig hebben.

AWS IoT FleetWise aan

AWS kondigt AWS IoT FleetWise aan, een nieuwe service die het voor autofabrikanten gemakkelijker en kosteneffectiever maakt om voertuiggegevens in bijna realtime te verzamelen, te transformeren en over te dragen naar de cloud. Met AWS IoT FleetWise kunnen autofabrikanten eenvoudig data verzamelen en ordenen in elk formaat dat aanwezig is in hun voertuigen (ongeacht merk, model of opties). Ook kunnen ze het gegevensformaat standaardiseren voor eenvoudige gegevensanalyse in de cloud. AWS IoT FleetWise helpt autofabrikanten om gegevens in bijna realtime efficiënt over te dragen naar de cloud met behulp van de intelligente filtermogelijkheden van de service. Hiermee kunnen ontwikkelaars het netwerkverkeer verminderen door de gegevens te selecteren die moeten worden overgedragen en regels te definiëren voor wanneer dat moet op basis van parameters zoals weersomstandigheden, locatie of voertuigtype.

AWS IoT TwinMaker

AWS kondigt AWS IoT TwinMaker aan, een nieuwe service die het voor ontwikkelaars sneller en gemakkelijker maakt om digital twins te maken van real-world-systemen zoals gebouwen, fabrieken, industriële apparatuur en productielijnen. Digital twins zijn virtuele representaties van fysieke systemen die regelmatig worden bijgewerkt met real-world data om de structuur, toestand en het gedrag van de objecten die ze vertegenwoordigen na te bootsen.
