Join our Startup Competition and Win a Trip to SXSW2018
Are you a Dutch energy or mobility startup geared up to shape the future? Does your company have what it takes to help make an effective transition to a more sustainable, affordable, secure energy and mobility system? Then we need you!
innogy SE via it’s local retail company, Essent Nederland B.V, & New Dutch Wave Foundation are inviting startups in the energy and mobility industry to pitch on January 15th 2018 their company to a panel of judges from within the ecosystem. The winners of this awesome competition will win a trip to Austin, Texas, to present their startup at the New Dutch Wave house at the global showcase SXSW18.
South by Southwest (SXSW) dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. The event is an essential destination for global professionals with all its features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, and a variety of networking opportunities.
We are searching for exciting startups in the following domains: energy saving solutions, inner climate, smart & connected and eMobility. (see roadmap figure below)
10 startups will be chosen to pitch in the attempt to convince the jury of the value of their products/solutions. One startup will win a trip to SXSW 2018!
DEADLINE APPLICATION: DECEMBER 18th, 2017
PRIZES
1st Prize:
- Business trip to SXSW 2018 for one person (including travel, accommodation and interactive SXSW ticket)
- Dates: March 11th until March 15th, 2018
- The winner will be pitching again at the startup pitch event at the New Dutch Wave house during SXSW18 in Austin, Texas
- Participate in the New Dutch Wave Startup Program at SXSW 2018
- Have the unique opportunity of joining the Essent E+ product development funnel. Where multiple projects are accelerated too market, allowing the startup to have a launch customer, following corporation talks.
- Pre-selected for customer validation sprint with Innogy’s Amsterdam digital garage. Which is a free investment & consulting (2 months of work) into validating your product & service against our customers.
2nd and 3rd prize
- Having the unique opportunity of joining the Essent E+ product development funnel. Where multiple projects are accelerated too market, allowing the startup to have a launch customer, following corporation talks.
SELECTION CRITERIA TO PARTICIPATE:
- Startup based in The Netherlands
- Startup to have been founded within the last 3 years
- Must fit in the following domains: Energy Saving Solutions, Inner Climate, Smart & Connected and eMobility. (see roadmap figure above)
- A compelling product story
- Beyond prototype and can eloquently demonstrate their product and/or service
- A clear business explanation of your unique USP and target market
- Variable product market fit within 1 – 3 years
- Business Profile
- Own your own intellectual property rights for your business model
- Potential for growth / growth strategy
- Earnings before interest and taxes target@ 0.5 million within 3 years
- Startups that have a direct business relation with the organization (New Dutch Wave, innogy SE) and/or members of the jury are excluded of participation
It is in the sole and free discretion of (New Dutch Wave Foundation, innogy SE, Essent Nederland B.V. to invite participants to such pitch competition.
JUDGING CRITERIA
The jury will be using the following four criteria to judge the startup pitches. Each will be rated on a 1-5 scale.
- Concept
- Customer Validation
- Business Model
- Presentation - Presentation format is a 3 minutes pitch, followed by a 2 min Q&A
Rating of the criteria is in the sole and free discretion of the judges. The judges' decision is final. There is no obligation to publish rating results
